LEADERSHIP

Dr. Selva Pankaj is an educator, knowing vs. doing gap researcher, and an educational leader. He co-founded Regent with his life and business partner Tharshiny Pankaj in the year 2000, starting by providing private tuition for £20 an hour. Tharshiny and Selva Pankaj both spent the first part of their lives in Sri Lanka but civil war forced them to flee to the UK at the ages of 13 and 19 respectively.  Selva enrolled in a chartered accountancy course and, after qualifying, worked in senior roles in globally renowned financial and investment institutions including Fortress Investment Group, Schroders, Prudential Financial Inc and Grosvenor. After graduating from Brunel University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science, Tharshiny taught ICT & Computing at a sixth form college.

The Pankajs are now joint CEOs of a global business with headquarters in London, Dubai and New York. Regent Global works in education, impactful investment and economy building. The aim is for Regent Global to be a British unicorn by 2030.

Selva and Tharshiny believe that the end result of education is character and work to champion lifelong learning.

Public Learn, conceived by Dr. Selva Pankaj and Mrs. Tharshiny Pankaj, is Regent’s second philanthropic education project. The Pankaj’s overarching vision is to democratise education, facilitating access to free courses in all subjects so that everyone can grow their knowledge and develop the character, attitude and mindset that you need to succeed in life.
